| Jr Elite Coach | Coach Frank joined the Team Suffolk Coaching Staff in 1998 working with the Developmental Groups. Since 2014 he has enjoyed working with the Jr Elite training group developing young swimmers for transition to the Elite level. In 2016 Coach Frank became Co Head Coach. He has had the pleasure of working with swimmers who have been Junior and Senior Met Finalists, and Eastern Zone Qualifying Teams. Several have accomplished Metropolitan Swimming Records, and become High School State Finalists. Coach Frank’s affinity for the sport started in South Florida. He Swam for PBSC, Pompano Beach Swim Club, and was a diver for PPAC Pompano Pool Aquatic Club, where he served as team captain of both thru his high school years. Coach Frank takes pride in helping young swimmers find a passion for the sport, while also teaching them that hard work and practice ethic makes a difference. |

| Elite Coach | Coach Jake has been a dedicated coach with Team Suffolk for the past 10 years. He holds certifications in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR, ensuring a safe and professional environment on deck. Jake specializes in butterfly technique as well as starts and turns, bringing focused expertise to his swimmers. His coaching style emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, and growth in and out of the pool. Jake is passionate about helping each athlete become the best version of themselves—both as swimmers and as individuals. |

Coach Christine began her swimming journey at the age of 7 as an age group swimmer. She competed for 10 years with a small but dominant team from Mill Neck, consistently excelling throughout her career, qualifying for finals at Senior Mets and taking third place at the Empire State Games in 200 Breaststroke. Christine continued her athletic and academic journey at the University of Pennsylvania, where she competed at the NCAA Division I level, specializing in the 200 Butterfly, 400 Individual Medley, and 200 Breaststroke. While still in college, Christine discovered her passion for coaching by leading a Nassau County summer league team from last place to first in their division. After graduating from Penn, she transitioned into triathlon training and began coaching with the Long Island Aquatic Club (LIAC) while pursing her first Master’s degree. Following five years at LIAC, Christine joined Team Suffolk, where she has spent the last 18 years coaching across all training groups. She currently works primarily with the intermediate group and assists with the elite swimmers. Christine emphasizes strong technique and speed work, fostering an environment of continuous improvement. She is committed to professional development and has attended clinics led by coaching legends such as Dave Marsh, Bob Bowman, and Jason Lezak. Christine is deeply passionate about the sport of swimming and values the life lessons it instills - especially perseverance, discipline, and accountability. |

| Jen Champagne | Intermediate Coach | Coach Jen truly loves this sport and has been teaching swimming ever since she got certified to be a WSI as an undergrad. She is a college physical education professor who specializes in fitness and swimming courses (Intro to Swim, Fitness Swim, Lifeguarding & Water Safety Instructor). In her role as a Red Cross Instructor Trainer, she teaches people how to teach the full swim curriculum and trains lifeguards as well. She’s very involved with the Suffolk Zone executive board of NYS AHPERD (Alliance for Health Physical Education Recreation & Dance) and is the Vice President of Aquatics. She also represents PE teachers on all 3 campuses of Suffolk County Community College as their Faculty Association Executive Council representative. She has won two prestigious awards in teaching from NYS AHPERD for both the Aquatics Teacher of the Year in 2015 and Higher Education Teacher of the Year in 2021. Her older son Dylan was a D1 swimmer who swam for TS and then Loyola University as an undergrad and for an additional year at Fordham University as a grad student. Coach Jen started club coaching after Dylan graduated St. Anthony’s HS, and she finally found the free time to do so. She started at Islanders Aquatics before coming over to join our TS family as soon as a spot on the coaching staff became available. TS is like home to her and watching the Intermediate swimmers develop the love she has for the sport is a true joy. |

| Thomas Scott | Developmental Coach | Coach Tom began swimming at age 11 with Team Suffolk, progressing through every level of the program thanks to his dedication and work ethic. In high school, he qualified for the NYS State Championships in the 500 Freestyle (junior and senior year) and the 200 IM (senior year). After graduating from Huntington High School, he attended Misericordia University, earning a BS in Chemistry and a BA in Secondary Education/Chemistry with Cum Laude Honors. He returned to Team Suffolk as a coach in 2017 and has been with the team ever since. While coaching, he completed graduate studies at SUNY Stony Brook and later earned a second master’s degree in Secondary Education/Chemistry from Western Governors University. Coach Tom is a decorated collegiate swimmer and proven leader with a championship background and deep understanding of competitive swimming. A three-time Men’s Swimming MVP at Misericordia University, he was named one of the school’s Top 100 Athletes of the Century in 2025—honoring a career marked by excellence, consistency, and dedication. During his time at Misericordia, Coach Tom earned 5 MAC titles (including three in the 200 Breaststroke), 6 runner-up finishes, and a remarkable 19 First Team All-Conference honors, along with 6 Second Team selections. He set multiple school and pool records across events like the 100 IM, 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 Freestyle, and 800 Free Relay. Coach Tom was a six-time MAC Swimmer of the Week, a three-time CollegeSwimming.com Swimmer of the Week, and a three-time Misericordia Athlete of the Month. Academically, he was named to the MAC All-Academic Team and Honor Roll three times and was recognized for his sportsmanship by the MAC Sportsmanship Team in 2017. Today, Coach Tom brings that same competitive edge and team-focused mindset to coaching—committed to developing athletes who compete with confidence, discipline, and purpose. |

| Kayla Balling | Developmental Coach | Coach Kayla has had a lifelong love for the water, beginning her competitive swimming journey at the age of 9 with Farmingdale Aquatics team. She later joined the Bethpage Barracudas, where she continued to swim competitively throughout high school. A standout on her high school varsity swim team, Kayla was a Nassau County finalist in both 2013 and 2014 and was honored to serve as team captain, a role in which her leadership skills thrived. Kayla earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Management from the University of Central Florida in 2019. Despite shifting her academic focus, her passion for swimming never wavered. She remains an active swimmer and is a proud member of the Jones Beach Lifeguard Corps, where she works as an ocean lifeguard and junior lifeguard instructor each summer. Kayla joined Team Suffolk as a coach in November 2022, working with the developmental and novice groups. Her coaching philosophy is simple yet powerful: “I know kids will perform their best when they are having fun, but still being challenged. It is her goal to build swimmers’ self confidence and to provide a positive environment for each individual to learn and grow.” She is certified in First Aid/CPR for the Professional Rescuer and is a USA Swimming certified coach. |

| Allegra Neglia | Developmental Coach | Coach Allegra began swimming competitively at age 8 with Team Suffolk and continued with the team throughout high school before competing at the collegiate level for SUNY Oswego. She has been coaching with Team Suffolk since 2023 and became the assistant coach for the Northport/Commack Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Team in 2024. Allegra is a USA Swimming Certified Coach and Jones Beach Lifeguard, with certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration. As a coach, she is committed to creating a fun, supportive, and disciplined environment where swimmers can build strong techniques, learn the value of hard work, and develop a lifelong love for the sport. Her goal is to help each swimmer grow in and out of the pool while reaching their full potential. |
